MATT HOWE PERFORMS “I’M HIP!” CABARET SHOW

MAY 10 AND 12 AT D.C.’S BLACK FOX LOUNGE

Washington, D.C. – Matt Howe debuts his new solo cabaret show, “I’m Hip!” at D.C.’s Black Fox Lounge, May 10 and 12 with music director Daniel Sticco accompanying him on piano.

In “I’m Hip!” Matt observes what it means to be hip by singing an eclectic mix of show tunes, standards and comedy songs. With tunes by Stephen Sondheim, Richard Rodgers, Dave Frishberg, Jeff Blumenkrantz, and others, Matt weaves together an entertaining evening of song and patter, humor and pathos.  With reinforcement from three-time Helen Hayes nominated and Broadway composer Daniel Sticco as the show’s music director, “I’m Hip!” could be the hippest evening of cabaret yet!

Matt Howe is an actor-singer in Washington, D.C. His last cabaret, “Happy Endings,” debuted March 2010 to enthusiastic audiences at Sitar Arts Center. Matt performed in five cabaret benefits for Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW). He performed in Chicago at Three Cat Media's third annual Barbra Streisand celebration: “BabFab,” singing Streisand songs. Matt also attended the Eighth Annual Cabaret Conference at Yale University where he worked with cabaret artists like Faith Prince, Sally Mayes, and Tovah Feldshuh.

Daniel Sticco is the Artistic Director of Sticco Studios, his own vocal coaching studio in the D.C. area. He has had the pleasure to work with noted artists: Karen Ziemba, Robert Cuccioli, Liz Callaway, David Bedella, Darius de Haas, and Michelle Rios.  Daniel served as pianist for Stephen Schwartz’s International Tour, “Reluctant Pilgrim.”  Mr. Sticco is currently preparing for the London debut of his Broadway musical “A Change in the Heir.”
